Follow me, Find me, Join me, Like me

Hi friends! I just wanted to let you know about another opportunity to follow what is going on at Kristin J. Portraiture. You can now "like" Kristin J. Portraiture on Facebook and stay up-to-date with the latest news and pictures of your friends and family! I'm cooking up a fun contest, so you'll want to make sure you're in-the-know!
You can join me on Facebook by clicking here.

And, as always, you can find me on Twitter here. It still kind of amazes me that 10 years ago we didn't talk in this language! I know, that makes me sound old. I promise I'm not!

NWABride Premiere Showcase

I just wanted to share a few pics with you from the NWABride Premiere Showcase that took place on January 16. The fair was so fun and I really enjoyed getting to meet a few of the brides that are planning 2010 weddings. Also, a bit of good news:

I HAVE DECIDED TO EXTEND THE 15% DISCOUNT THROUGH FEBUARY 28!!!

That's right, any bride booking a wedding with Kristin J. Portraiture  will receive 15% off their package through the end of Feburary! Please give me a call (479-586-1980) or e-mail if you are interested in learning more about my wedding packages. I would love to talk to you!

Beautiful floral arrangement from Pam and Allison at Flora.

My awesome assistants Matt and Kara (they're excited that their engagement pic made the back of the handout).

Have a great day! Stay warm!

I'm Thankful For... YOU!

So, as you may know, for several years I’ve been easing into starting a full-time business doing photography. I originally graduated with a nursing degree and have been working part-time as a nurse for 6 years, but I have known for most of that time that I’ve wanted to pursue a career in photography. As it is with starting any business, there have been a few difficult times. As fun as it is, it’s not always glamorous and there have been many times that I’ve  asked myself “Now why are you doing this again?”.

Last night, I was called unexpectedly into a meeting dealing with all things medical and legal (yawn), and I began to remember why it is that I LOVE being a photographer and what I do. I truly have the best job and, though there are many reasons that I feel this way perhaps the greatest reason is YOU.  Thank YOU for allowing me to capture a few of the most special moments of your life. You have invited me to be a part of your engagement and wedding day, your new baby, your senior year, your growing family. Thank you for trusting me and giving me a chance. Thank you for welcoming me and allowing me to grow with you. I am so grateful for the time I’ve spent with each of you and the friendships that have grown out of the last few years. I look forward to so many more! So, THANKS!

And, because every post is better with a picture, here are a couple of faves from an afternoon with Dustin and Katie…
