Fayetteville Engagement: Sarah & Ryan

Oh my, what a fun engagement shoot! Sarah and Ryan called me earlier this year to photograph their wedding this fall. After discussing several locations for engagement shoots, we decided to go out to Ryan's family farm in Greenland. His family owns 300+ acres of land, so we had no shortage of gorgeous scenery to choose from. There is so much that I love about this shoot: the location, the light, the green, the dirt road and farm equipment, the horses, and, of course, the sweetest couple I could have hoped for!

Sarah and Ryan, I had a blast with you last weekend! Thanks for being such good sports and putting up with the heat. It was totally worth it! I can't wait for your wedding in November (and maybe a little horseback riding in the future :) )!

A special thanks goes to Christy at Shabby Chic Salon in Farmington for doing a fabulous job with Sarah's hair!

Arkansas Photographer: Khaki & Travis: Engagements

After talking via e-mail for several months, I was excited to finally get to meet Khaki and Travis in person for their engagement session. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: one of the best parts of my job is getting to know my clients and hear the story of how they met. One thing I love even more is stories of high school sweethearts (maybe because everyone always says it's not possible to meet the person you're going to marry when you're in high school). Well, sure enough, Khaki and Travis met in high school and have been together ever since (love it!) and are planning a June wedding at a family farm in Springdale.

We met out at Beaver Lake to take pictures in a unique setting. After being interrogated by two police officers about why we were out at the lake, we were able to get down to shooting. Beyond hearing all about their story, Khaki and I had lots to talk about. She is an art major and enjoys learning all about painting, sculpting, graphic design, and photography. She rocked it out in front of the camera!

Springdale Photographer: Dave and Kim

I first met Kim while shooting her sister Karen's wedding last fall. Kim and Dave had met at church and, at Karen's wedding, had been dating several months. I was excited to get the inside scoop from her family that he was planning to propose soon. Karen was looking forward to being a part of the surprise. Dave had enlisted her to help get things ready and make sure that everything was perfect. A few weeks later, over candlelight and rose petals, Dave professed his love and asked Kim for forever.

Thankfully, the crazy snow we had a few weeks ago melted off quickly and we were able to go to Shiloh Museum in Springdale for engagement pictures. Kim and Dave, I'm so excited for you two! It's been fun to get to see a small part of your growing relationship over the past year. Thank you so much for giving me the honor of shooting your wedding this summer at Magnolia Gardens. I can't wait!

Northwest Arkansas Engagement: Seth & Meghan

Today I bring you Seth and Meghan's engagement session. These two drove from Stuttgart and I was so happy to meet them in person for the first time! It was a very chilly day, but I had a blast getting to know them and hearing their story of being high school sweethearts. Seth and Meghan, thanks so much for driving up to Fayetteville in the cold. I loved getting to know you guys and can't wait for your wedding. I know it will be just as sweet as you two are!
